I have for many years insisted on working only with local composers, primarily because proximity allowed for a lot of interaction. The talented Jay Manley was perfect for that reason. His score for Endings was perfect to my ear; not just music when needed but a kind of subtle emotional background even under serious dialogue. I'd previously worked with Jay, but this was a whole new experience.
