That Moment (working title)

That Moment is a film project unlike any I have ever done. The title refers to "that moment" when you knew she was the one; "that moment" when you got the terrible news. The film is a collage of moments on a journey.

It is a film with no script, created through a collaboration with actress Caitlin Wells. There is a story of love and loss but there is more or less no dialog. The story is told in Caitlin's face.

I'm happy to say that Emma Nadeau has agreed to provide the score for this film. We have finished shooting and editing is in progress. We expect to have the film finished before September 1 (2017!)

To the right is a completely premature attempt to begin thinking about a poster for the film.

In the last 18 months I've been putting a lot of my personal "film energy" into writing. As I sat at the laptop, I was haunted by a set of about twenty file folders, each holding a half-baked script or idea for a short film. I've been making short films since 1999 but none of those scripts seemed right, none of them called my name. So I hadn't actually shot a film of my own since late 2014. (Which was finished in 2015.)

Finding a project that freed me from the constraints of writing was the right thing. And finding Caitlin as a collaborator has been a tremendous gift. I'm honored by her ability.
